Logic World Wednesdays: Trackers & Trailers

More building mechainc pogress! - Jimmy

I continue to work on Logic World’s new building mechanics!

Following up on last week’s multi-resizing, I’ve hashed out many of the details with the mechanic. Intersections between components being resized are now properly handled, wires attached to components being resized (such as a Panel Display) are now visible & dynamic, and I’ve fixed a bunch of edge cases that didn’t work. I also added new “minimal” resizing visuals for when there isn’t room for the full UI.

I’ve also added a “multi-edit” mechanic, allowing you to edit the properties of multiple components simultaneously!

Issue trackers - Felipe

We love it when you give us feedback about the things we’ve made, however we haven’t had a proper way to keep track of your reports ever since the old tracker went away. That’s why I’ve been working on writing a brand new issue tracker, leveraging the existing technology I’ve built for this website. The logicworld.net issue tracker will be a central hub for your feedback, where we will discuss bug reports and feature requests and mark off when they’ve been resolved.

Although there is only one tracker service, it’s split into two actual trackers: one tracker for the website you’re reading this on and another tracker for the game itself, although only beta testers will be able to access the latter until Logic World is published. The tracker’s unit of work is a “ticket”, which can either be a bug report or a feature request. Each ticket can be assigned as many tags as we see fit in order to classify it, for example: “in progress”, “out of scope”, etc.

This is just a first release of the tracker, and it’s missing some important features like the ability to sort by tag or hide closed tickets. I’ll be improving it into the future, based on your feedback and on our own experiences using it. In the meantime, if you have any problems using this website or ideas for how to improve it, please open a ticket and I’ll get right on it!

For beta-testers: the game tracker is not yet available to you since I first want to recover the data from the old tracker. You should hopefully have access to it in the coming days.

Media update - Jimmy

Logic World’s current trailer and promotional images are horifically out of date. I made them when we announced the game in 2019, but the game has advanced so much in that time that the current media is practically false advertising.

We badly need an update. I don’t want to take too much time out of working on the game itself, but I’m working on a new trailer and set of official screenshots. They’re coming out really well, and I expect to publish it all sometime this week.

I’ll talk more about all this when it’s done and published. Fun cool thing: the trailer will be 4k60fps :D

We’ll keep releasing these weekly updates right up until the game comes out. To make sure you don’t miss them, you can sign up for our newsletter. Be sure also to wishlist Logic World on Steam and join the official Discord.

See you next Wednesday!

In terms of usability the resize of resize areas is a great thing.
But they do not look perfect yet. Something itches me about them, but I don’t know to improve them. :(

Finally an issue tracker! Wohoo~
So its time to carry all my issues over to it.
Its released quicker than I expected :O

I agree the small resizing UI needs improvement. Will continue to iterate on it.

Thank you for your enthusiastic use of the tracker 😄

When close enough and clipping get the average for the centers.

@JimmyDeveloper3 weeks ago

Sorry, could you clarify what you mean by this?

Oooh that multi-edit feature looks amazing!

Can’t wait to see the game tracker :D

(Jimmy, on the second video the sound is more muffled and noisy, you might have accidentally changed your recording settings :o)

Yeah, after recording I noticed that and I was like “what the hell” but it was 5am and I just wanted to go to bed so I left it lol
